This past year was a year like no other. And yet, a small handful of things remained comfortingly the same. As in past years, the Winchester Public Library participated in an annual Pajama Drive, run in cooperation with Cradles to Crayons and the Boston Bruins. And just like past years, the Winchester community stepped up. Even in a year where all of us faced new and different challenges, this community remained generous and helpful.
In February and early March, you dropped off pajama donations that were distributed to local children through the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families. Working together with other area libraries, we were collectively able to gather 4,157 sets of brand new pajamas, masks, socks, and other essentials that helped give comfort to those who needed them.
Wondering how you can continue to help? While our drive ended this spring, Cradles to Crayons is always accepting donations of new and like-new children’s items, and they have a convenient drop-off location in Newton. You can find out more about the types of items they’re looking for at their website, or by checking out their Amazon Wish List.
Thank you all again for your generosity this year!
