Borrowing
Most of our items can be borrowed for 3 weeks at a time except new DVDs, Playaway videos, museum passes, and select technology like the thermal camera and digital slide scanner. View the complete loan periods for more information. Please note we are not currently charging any fines for overdue items, only bills for lost or damaged ones.
Returns
You may return any Minuteman item to the Winchester Public Library and any Winchester item to other Minuteman libraries. Please be aware that the loan periods and fees of the library from which you originally borrowed your materials will apply no matter where the items are returned.
The Library offers a 3 day grace period on all items except museum passes.
Book drops in the parking lot are available 24/7 for the return of all library materials.
Requests
If the item you want is checked out, you can add your name to a waitlist. You can renew with your online account.
If we do not own the item you want, you can use the Commonwealth Catalog (ComCat), which contains the holdings of libraries across Massachusetts. You will need your library card number and password.

Renewals
Most library items can be renewed up to 2 times if no one else is waiting for them. Eligible items will renew automatically two days before they are due. Not all items are eligible for auto renewal.

Lost Items
You will be charged the replacement price listed in the item record for lost or seriously damaged material, or when the items are missing parts or artwork.
