It’s Easy!
Present a photo ID and proof of your current address at any Circulation Desk. Massachusetts residency is required to get your library card and some services are restricted to Winchester residents only. Complete requirements are available in our policy manual.
Your Library Account
You can access your online library account with your library card number and a password.
You’ll be able to see what you have checked out, renew your materials, manage requests, and pay fines even when the library is closed.
Renew Your Library Card Online
Have you received notification that your library card is expiring? If you have your library card number and know your PIN, you may be able to renew it online. If you are unable to renew online, please visit the library to renew your card.
Start from home
Save time by filling out the registration form at home. You will be issued a temporary library card number, good for up to 6 months. Within that period, stop by with valid identification to be given your permanent card.
Children & Teens
Children ages 4 and up with a parent or legal guardian can may get a library card.
The signature of a parent or guardian is not required for anyone from Grade 6 through age 17 years if the applicant can provide a photo ID and proof of address Otherwise the parent or legal guardian must provide proof of identification and address and sign the teen’s application. The teen must be present at the time the card is issued.
Lost Cards
There is no charge to replace a lost or damaged library card. Bring a photo ID to any Circulation Desk to receive a replacement card.
You are responsible for all materials taken out on your card until the date when you report the card lost. Please tell us immediately if your card is lost.
